Den 8 februari kommer det världsberömda bandet Zakk Sabbath till årets första Rock The Boat med sin turné ”In Honor and Celebration: 50 Years ‘O DOOM”. Årets huvudakt skapar rockhistoria på Östersjön. Zakk Sabbath är det enda coverbandet till legendariska Black Sabbath. Turnén är en hyllning till att Black Sabbath hade sitt stora genomslag för 50 år sedan.
Under 23 timmar förvandlas fartyget Galaxy till en kokande rockfestival. Rock the Boat gästas också av rockbanden PHOXJAW, BOMBUS och CANDLEMASS samt DJ Matt Stocks från Storbritannien.

Bombus
Formed in 2009 by Fredrik ‘Feffe’ Berglund and Mattias ‘Matte’ Jacobsson, Bombus began as a gnarly two-piece, with Feffe on drums and Matte on guitar, churning out riffs and punk rock clatter inspired by the likes of the Melvins, The Jesus Lizard and Poison Idea. Progress is a tricky thing to stop, however, and since those early days, Bombus have evolved into one of the most explosive and charismatic hard rock bands on the planet. From 2010’s rampaging self-titled debut album to the extravagant riff excursions of 2013’s The Poet & The Parrot, the Swedes have never conformed to current trends or relied on one easy formula: instead, through undeniable songwriting power and ferocious levels of creative energy, they have powered forward, earning themselves a formidable reputation as a wildly entertaining live band along the way.

Candlemass
Epic Doom Metal from Sweden. The first now classic doom metal album “Epicus Doomicus Metallicus” was released in 1986. Many years, albums and tours have passed since then. Now it’s time for the new album “The Door to Doom” (February 22, 2019 Napalm Records)! The Door To Doom unsurprisingly follows the plotline mastermind, songwriter and bass player Leif Edling established in the past years: epic world class doom metal that relies on slow mammoth riffing. With Johan Längquist’s highly dramatic vocal style and the love for details, the band made this album to the next “Epicus”. This masterpiece is rounded off by a beautiful guest appearance by none other than Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi on ‘Astorolus – The Great Octopus.’

Inför Sweden Rock 2018 inledde vi ett samarbete med rockartisten Dregen och illustratören Mattias Frisk som tillsammans fick uppdraget att ta fram ett nytt artwork för våra Rock The Boat-kryssningar. Resultatet ser ni här intill.
